Upgrade Advice?

Greetings,

I am currently running a PC with:

-Gigabyte GA-k8nsnxp-939

-Athlon 64 3500+

-1gb Corsair Twinx1024-3200C2PT (2x512)

-Gigabyte 3d Cooloer HSF

-eVga 6800GT

-Hitachi 80gb SATA HD

-Antec NeoPower 480 PSU

The machine has been running very well and rock solid w/o any problems.

Ive also begun to upgrade my girlfriends pc too:

-MSI Neo2 Plat 939 (although ive had zero problems with my Gigabyte, i seem to be in the minority so i opted for the MSI for her PC)

-Athlon 64 3500+

-Gigabyte 3d Cooler HSF

-eVGA 6800 GT

-Antec TrueBlue 480 PSU

The only thing we havent upgraded just yet for her is the memory. Currently its usuing some old DDR 2700 266mhz Crucial.

Anyhow, now for my actual question... =P

I need to get her some memory. Ive also been thinking about wanting to upgrade my PC to 2gb. I am kinda hesitant because from reading the forums, ive been really lucky with my gigbyte/corsair combo. So should I just get her some Twinx 1024 2x512 or get myself some Twinx 2gb and put my existing memory in hers. My assumption is i should not have problems running 2x1024C2PT in my Gigabyte machine?

Thanks for taking the time to read. :)

Well I really think that the majority of people that use our products do not have problems based on the volume that we sell; only about 1% of modules sold bring users to our forum for help. So based on that, I have to assume that the majority do not have any problems. Not to mention, our sales volume has went up 10 X in the last few years, so when you take that into consideration there are a relatively small # of user here with issues.

That being said, what’s best for you is hard for me too judge, but if you want 2.0 Gig of memory Twinx2038-3200 would be a good choice if you can find the C2 version of our 2.0 Gig sets that would be slightly faster, but they are hard to get right now. So if you want 2 gig I would go for Twinx2048-3200 or the C2 version if available and then just move the modules you have now over to the other system and you should be set.
