red-ray
Not for me! Just installed my Mini last night. It detects temp and controls the LEDs wonderfully. It does not show a single one of my 6 fans that are connected to it, so I can't control their speed. At this point it's only supplying a constant voltage to those 6 fans. I'm NOT happy. I believe my problem is I need PWM fans with 4 pins instead of the 3 most of my fans have??? Does that mean I gotta go spend another $100 to get all new fans??? I have both 3-pin and 4-pin fans connected to both CL Minis and Cooling nodes. My SIV utility reports them all correctly, but CL fails to do this. Does SIV report all yours? See http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140665. If you post [uSB Bus], [Link Devices], [Link Status] and [Link Fans] screen shots I may be able to deduce that your issue is. ApexAU
So, any reason this hasn't been addressed in the public branch 8 months after it has been officially reported? Poor show Corsair, poor show. Corsair seems hopelessly disorganised when it comes to documenting and squashing the litany of bugs in Link. Several bugs have been around for much longer than eight months. I've been seeing phantom devices and 0 RPM fans in so many version I've lost count.
AlphaBravo
I used a first generation Corsair Link module with the separate cooling node, and that setup had no problem controlling the fans based on the temperature probe readings. It seems odd that the newer generation Corsair Link Commander Mini, which is supposed to be more capable than the older generation, can't do something that the previous generation had no trouble doing. The ability to control fans based on the temperature probes is one of the core, advertised abilities of the Commander Mini. This known issue should be fixed, or it should stop being advertised as feature.
AlphaBravo
I installed the SIV utility (thanks Ray), and tried to see if I could use that to control my fans based on the temperature probes, but alas, I was unable to figure it out. I guess I need step-by-step instructions.

If you post a screen shot of Menu->Tools->Link Fans and say which sensor you would like to use to control each fan when I can probably tell you what you need to do. red-ray
I would like to control my case fan speeds using the temperature sensor number 2. I assume you have read http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140665 1) You MUST specify -CRLCTL when you start SIV. When you do this the blue blobs will change to hot pink. 2) Use Menu->Tools->Configure->Link Export to set the names of the case fans then press [save]. 3) On [Link Fans] press the pink blob and select CLCC Temp 2. 4) Change the Fan Control Mode to 6 -> Custom and select it. 5) Set the Points 6) Press [save]. Does this help?

I can actually control my case fans based on the temperature sensor. Thanks guys. A special thanks to Ray for SIV! :headbang:Now that I understand the concept of SIV a bit better, I am going to try to program my Commander Mini's LED lights. red-ray
Forgive me for not knowing how, but I have no idea how to specify -CRLCTL when starting SIV. If you look at http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140665 it states "If you are just using SIV to control your CL hardware rather than specifying -CRLCTL on the command line you may wish to use SIVDEF.ini. Simply save the attached prototype to the SIV installation folder as SIVDEF.ini and add any other qualifiers you wish to use. You should do Menu->File->Show SIVDEF.ini to ensure it is in the correct location." I suspect this may be a better option for you to use. I am happy to hear you now have things working. red-ray
I have just checked CL v3.1.5667 and the CLCC firmware is still v1.1.6. When is there likely to be an updated firmware to address the issue I raised in http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=757703 please? I also noticed that the Cooling Node firmware is v1.2.8 when v1.2.11 is the latest version. I am currently using v1.2.11, do I need to revert to v1.2.8 and if so why? red-ray
I have just checked the H100i 1.1.03 firmware from CL 3.2.5676 and the H100i still has the same incorrect mode being reported issue as the CLCC. When is there likely to be updated firmware to address this issue and the others I raised in http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=757703 for both the H100i and CLCC please? It is crazy that only the CLCC temperature sensor 4 works for internal custom curve feedback  On a positive note the custom curve issues I have seem posts about does not look like an H100i 1.1.03 firmware issue to me. As you can see below the H100i Fan 2 speed is as it should be

red-ray
Has there been any progress on the issue of the Commander Mini not being able to control fans based on the temperature reported from the temperature probes? I am assuming you mean CLCC temperature probes 1, 2 and 3 as probe 4 works. There has been no visible progress as no new CLCC firmware has been released :sigh!:. Only Corsair can tell you if there has been any progress .I have tested that the SIV work-a-round still works with the new H100i 1.1.03 firmware and it does . I have not tested with an H80i as I don't have one, but expect it to work ;):

rubley00
Dude, you're not going to get beta releases. They're tested and validated internally. We have an internal tracker that we use to document bugs. I know you want to help us with development and the help is appreciated, but the situation is more complex than you think it is. There are potential legal issues involved with having an outsider do dev work on this. It's called a "work-for-hire" contract, very common and very simple. What are the concerns exactly? red-ray
Well, for one, red-ray has explicitly stated he "wouldn't want to work for a company like Corsair" in the first place. Views can change and I suspect mine change more often than some. That was a fair time ago and now you started being more open about the constraints Corsair have (http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=793290) and providing good information (http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=795986) I may well consider doing so as a contractor as I would very much like the CL Mini firmware to be fixed. The only issue that may prove tricky is me being in England. This was also before Corsair decided to write CL4 from scratch and confirmed there were issues in CL3. red-ray
Thinking about what was said in http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=793290 is an escrow setup to give Corsair access to the firmware source code in the event of CoolIT being unable to support the firmware for some unforeseen reason? Given CoolIT have failed to address the issues reported in this thread after more then nine months I feel it's time to get firmware out of escrow.
