jforce77
I posted a few weeks back on forum post number 149226, got a RMA and sent back the bad stick. I received the new stick and after I put it in the system crashed within the first five minutes of use. So I ran Memtest86 with both sticks in and got errors. I removed the stick I received from you and the test ran clean. I pulled out my good stick and plugged the 'new' stick into the same slot that just ran clean and I received massive errors. I would like to know what we can do to resolve this trouble  . My set-up is: (2) CMX512-3200C2 XMS3202V2.2 512MB 400Mz CL2 RAM STICK. ASUS P4C800 Deluxe Motherboard Intel 2.6 GHz P4 CPU on 800MHz FSB ATI Radeon PRO 128MB
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 9, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 9, 2004 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200C2 Advanced/Jumper Free AI over clocking: Manual CPU Freq: 200 DRAM Clock: 400 MHz Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.75 Volts System performance: Standard AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Advanced/Chipset Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T (2.5T AMD Platform) SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T SDRAM Burst Length: 8 Performance Acceleration Mode: Enabled USB Legacy Support: Disabled All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! jforce77
Tried your advice and got the same result. The stick I've had all along tested good, the stick you sent me tested errors. I'm not exactly sure why I would have to over clock my system to make the RAM work but I did try and it failed. Also the stick I sent back to you was ver2.2, the one I received from you was ver1.2. I'm not sure if this would cause any trouble, but I'm guessing that it is an older stick maybe an issue exists with the older sticks that have since been corrected. please let me know what we can do about this trouble. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 19, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 19, 2004 Can you please tell me your name, and phone number, or better yet send them an email with your previous RMA#, this should speed things up. I apologize for any inconvenience, but currently and right at the moment we are currently short handed and too busy, but everything should be good to go by next week.
