PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

15 days ago I was working with two modules of "SPECTEK 512MB PC2700" AND

"VDATA 256 MB PC 2700", all work fine with "Windows XP Profesional 32"

(legal copy) all devices worked perfect.

A week ago I bought 2 modules of corsair CMX512 3200PT. I only installed

the 2 corsair memory but When I turn on my pc, a voice said ("System fail

VGA cast"), and the monitor didn't start.

Everything in the computing was working by default so I tried to restart

my PC but the voice kept sayng "system fail. VGA cast". Then I tried resettin

the BIOS en turning on the computer and the windows system worked but after a

few seconds the windows reseted (after showing the desk ).

After this the computer kept restarting after it try to enter windows.

I try reinstalling windows XP but th process copy failed again and again.

The windows showed several errors:

1. "Memory management stop 0x00000010 (0x00041284, 0x011e5001, 0x00003c02,

0xc0503000).

2. "NTFS.sys"

3. "List Corrupted"

and never installed the windows.

I installed the windows again with the old memories (the friend of mine.

spectek and vdata) configured it and made a BIOS actualization to the 1005

version.

Then I reviwed all posibles solutions in the RAM Guy forum and found that

I can configure the memory at 2.5,3,3,6 OR 2.5,3,3,7 OR 2.5,3,3,8

so I tried all and the pc never installed windows correctly. Always with the

same errors using the two corsair modules at the same time.

I tried changing the corsair memories position to different slots like this:

1. Slot 1 and 2

2. Slot 2 and 3

3. Slot 1 and 3

but it didn´t work either.

I used a memtest X86 Version 3.0 and both of them work 100% fine (corsair memories).

I proved the two corsair memories in a MCI KT6Delta pc in a turbo and ultra options

at 2.5,3,3,6 and the main test showed errors in the second corsair module when the test

was at 56% inclusive changing the position of the modules in the slots.

Finally I configured my PC with 2.5,3,3,6 but using only a single corsair memory and

my pc worked perfectly (inclusive the peripherals).

How can I make the two memories function at the same time and install windows xp

profesional correctly?

Thank you.

Please put the memory module on slot 1 & 3; make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB, and set the following settings on your BIOS;

TwinX512 or TwinX1024-3200C2

Advanced Chipset:

Memclock Mode: Limit

Memclock Value: 2:1 (DDR400)

Bank Interleaving: 4/Enabled

Burst Length: 4

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

Hypertransport: 4X

Jumper Free/Frequency Voltage Control:

Spread Spectrum: Enabled

CPU FSB Clock: 200

DDR Voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts

AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!*

All other settings should be set to default settings!

Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!

hello.

I am not sure if you read my pc configuration because:

1. asusk8ne deluxe doesn´t have a option to change burst length:4

2. asusk8ne deluxe doesn´t have a option to change bank interleaving: 4/enabled

3. asusk8ne deluxe doesn´t have a option to change spread spectrum:enabled

4. My ATI is 9600 radeon with 1.5 volts default.

5. My board (asus k8ne-deluxe) doesn´t have 2.8/2.85 volts options. It only has 2.5 or 2.6 or 2.7 volts if I want to try.

I am no sure if there is a solution in wich i don´t have to change the volts on my MB and my AGP because i am afraid that it migth cause a damage in my PC .

I dont have enough money to make experiments in such a expensive MB and Memories.

There is another solution to my problem?

Setting the memory voltage to 2.7 is well within the specs of the memory and memory slots, and in fact the memory is warrantied up to 2.9v, so no worries there. Generally if they give you a setting in the BIOS for voltage it is within safety specs. The 1.6v is suggested for AGP slots with that card because of the occasional stability issues with them.

Hello.

Yesterday i tried the 2.5,3,3,6 CAS and 2.5,3,3,7 CAS at memory voltage to 2.7 and 1.6v suggested for AGP slots with that card but it only work a time. Then windows restart again and again .

I have the latest BIOS for my MB. It is not the problem. The computers works fine with a single corsair module but if I put the two same modules at 1,2 or 2,3 or 1,3 slots the windows restart when the desktop appear..

What can i do??

The memory frequency should running at 200 MHz for the actual clock frequency. DDR is or stands for double data rate so DDR400 would be running at 200 MHz X 2 = 400 DDR. Please make sure that your MB is showing the DDR frequency or the actual clock frequency. You can verify this with http://www.memtest.org as it will show the DDR Frequency. In addition, with this MB please make sure that you have the FSB Jumper set to pins 2-3 as well.

That might suggest a problem with the MB, of you have not done a fresh install of on this system I would try a fresh FDISK,Format and install of the O.S.

I could not understand....

And, I want to know the name of a MB tha supports DDR2 512Mb PC5400 667MHz Corsair Memory Single (no Twins).

Thenk you

Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

Our DDR2 5400 memory modules will work with the P5AD2-E Premium by ASUS, AA8 Duramax by ABIT, etc...

I want to know if you had tested two CMX512 3200PT XMS3200v4.1 at the same time in a asus k8n-e Deluxe 1.04 Revision, because i think that is the problem?

Thank you.
