K70 RGB Software Crashes, keyboard crashes and steam load times doubled

I was expecting a lot more for a 200$ keyboard. Software has only gone about 30 minutes for me before crashing. The lighting does pretty much what it wants or freezes completely and does nothing.

 

No one has mentioned it yet but with the keyboard plugged in and software running, it makes steam games take ages to load.

 

I run a i7-4790k, 16gb ram, 256gb evo hdd, 1tb black all tied together with a 780 ti and with this plugged in it can take anywhere from 1 minute to upwards of 5 minutes to launch a game. unplugging and uninstalling the software and my load times go back to <=1 second load times.

 

I have spent the better part of my day trying to troubleshoot this and am now giving up.

 

How did none of these issues come up in product testing? I am not the only around here by the looks of the hundreds of forum posts i have read with others having a none functioning keyboard on their desk.

 

Just wanted to say i am highly disappointed in this purchase and will be returning it today. I will be trying out the chroma and a few of the others that have now surfaced since your announcement of this series.

 

I love that you keep boasting about being the first rgb mechanical but at the end of the day who cares when for a lot of people the keyboard is none functioning. I hope you guys get it sorted out and maybe one day I will reconsider purchasing but for the time being, in this state the keyboard is a dud. Hopefully when that day comes one of your competitors hasn't already received my business.

Just to say, the issues with Steam have been mentioned several times in this forum and they said they're looking into it...

 

Anyway we're supposed to get a firmware (and software?) update by Monday, or so some techs said in reply to some tickets.

you would think all the posts about animation freezing and software problems going un noticed with no reply would at least deserve a sticky saying "we see your problems we are working on it" but we have to hear it from a third person about what they read in a ticket? ridiculous. If the problems don't get fixed soon i will take this thing back to best buy and get a razer i am that fed up with all of this nonsense.

Im sure they know about these issues, the software is the reason why the release of the keyboard was pushed back. Its probably going to take a long while before all the bugs are fixed since its a pretty complex piece of software for the first iteration. I knew this would happen when I bought the keyboard and I'm fine with it, software can be fixed.

 

Why I like this keyboard over something like Razer's BW Chroma is because of the level of customization, as a programmer i cant wait to dive into LUA programming for this keyboard! I'll plan on writing lighting scripts for cooldowns for various games and lighting for hotkey combinations in Visual Studio.

Well, Corsair employees did post the same message in a couple of posts too. It's just that there isn't a sticky thread about those. If they made one it would make peoples ask a lot less questions imo.

Ya. Same as mine too....and also my dota 2 app is suddenly closed!! Somemore will auto restart my pc when runing dota 2 app. Dc so many time in every match, how do i play like tht?!? Do corsair will solve this problem asap???? I from malaysia and i use rm599 to buy this nice but sux software keyboard?? AND THE FREEZING ISSUE TOO, I HAVE TRY ALL WAY OF THE USB HUB, IT JUST WORK SAME!!! GOD DAMM CORSAIR CAN PLS SOLVE UR SOFTWARE PROBLEM ASAP?!?!?
