joncppl
When I launch a virtual machine using oracle virtual box, (I use them for development), the LEDs on my keyboard freeze and the status in the Corsair software becomes "Malfunction" It also seems that other tasks, such as switching SLI on and off, changing monitor resolutions cause the issue. terabyte
VirtualBox (and VMWare too) tend to "capture" the devices connected through USB while you're in it and it gets 'disconnected' from windows. I guess that's part of the issue. When you close the VM does the keyboard start working again? I use both VB and VM so this is something I really want to know. joncppl
No. Once the keyboard is dead it's dead for good until I completely reboot or unplug and replug the keyboard (and then wait for windows to act as if it was the first time It's seen it... which takes a few minutes) VMs and the things above are only surefire ways to crash the keyboard, it will also do it by itself spontaneously (sometimes seconds after booting, other times hours later). terabyte
Ugh, that's bad news for me. Hope they solve this too with the new firmware/software or at least with a future update. I've decided I'll be waiting for the "new" K70 RGB Brown with the old logo which will be out late November.

terabyte
New k70 RGB? Well, not really "new". More like the one with the old logo: Last week we pointed out the availability of a Vengeance K70 and Vengeance K70 RGB keyboards with red switches for fans of our Corsair “sails” logo. We have since rolled up our sleeves to see just how many additional “sails” logo versions we can add to our line. The answer is 11 configurations which were based on requests we’ve received. We also added a matching M65 RGB mouse. • Vengeance K70 RGB - Cherry MX red – US, UK, Nordic (US now, UK/Nordic available late November) • Vengeance K70 RGB - Cherry MX brown – US, UK (available late November) • Vengeance K95 RGB - Cherry MX red – US, UK (available late November) • Vengeance K70 - Cherry MX red – US, UK (available mid October) • Vengeance K70 - Cherry MX brown – US, UK (available mid October) • M65 RGB – black (late November) Both Corsair Gaming and Vengeance branded products are made to the same level of precision and are awesome. We promise.
travisk82
I really can't believe people get their panties in a bunch over a logo.

joncppl
Plugging in to front USB 3.0 seems to solve the issue. Don't know why though, it's the same USB 3.0 controller as the back ones (Z87). USB 2.0 w/ aux. power has issue too.
JohnOrion
I have a K95 and to this day .. it sill kills the keyboard ... when you launch a VM you have to unplug and plug in the keyboard again because it errors out and stops functioning ... not the actually keyboard .. it still functions but all the "extras" stop .. your color profiles .. your macros ... none of that will work until you reconnect the keyboard and if you open CUE it shows the keyboard with an error ... I have the issue no matter which USB port its connected too .. even tried to launch a VM without USB3 enabled for the VM and it still causes the issue
Toasted
Put in a support ticket with Corsair as they may be able to help you diagnose the issue. https://corsair.secure.force.com/
