kixio
So I got my h100i about 6 months ago. The machine was working great, but then I decided to get sp120 quiet editions. Then I started hearing this sound when I ramped up the fans: https://youtube.com/watch?v=P6IuuvBklC4 and I do not know what to do. I switched back the regular h100i fans and noticed it there too. I have tried reinstalling windows and plugging the fans in to the motherboard, but the sound remains. Please help. Thank you. I do not want to RMA. Nichrome
Try running H100i without any fans connected in the whole system. Then you will be able to tell if it's pump (or whole cooler) or fans.
cyper.bg
It's the fans for sure and only the bottom ones. Perfect explanation in THIS topic.
Nichrome
Well by logic, whichever fans you use, they both make that sound. As it's H100i, I suggest you switch the " Y " cable from the waterblock to the other slot/port and see if it happens there. Also make sure everything is connected right, and that BIOS shows around 2.2k RPM for this particular CPU_FAN header.

The sound definitely comes from the fans being suspended upside down. I can faintly hear mine even at 670rpm and it's annoying. I paid £10 per fan and this is unacceptable. Speed
That will not change anything. Isn't it interesting that someone asking what to do then tells everyone how it is.
snapper69
I installed mine with the fans on top of the rad, sucking air through the rad and blowing it out of the top of my case. The temps were only a couple of degrees higher than the push method and they were much quieter. It also makes the rad easier to clean.
