hamzta09
I hear a constant bzzz, almost like a bee, coming from the two fans mounted on the radiator. The pitch changes slightly as it changes RPMs in idle, opening up a browser, new page, or flash content. Its somewhat highpitched, but the volume of it is quite low. But its there, constantly, its REALLY annoying and after a while, frustrating. If I put my hand on the outside of the case (exhaust) the bzz noise is lowered a bit. If I push the inner-mounted (the one closest to CPU) fan towards the rad, with some force, the noise stops ALMOST completely. This noise is really annoying and I didnt have this issue with my previous fans. Is there a solution? This noise is really bothering me. Also, how can I control the speed of the fans? I cant do so in BIOS.
wytnyt
sounds like your fans may be vibrating due to mounting issues,a gasket will likely fix the issue this is best for fan controlling and much much more... http://www.corsair.com/en-us/corsair-commander-mini

I dont feel like repeatedly unmounting and re-mounting the fans and rad just to wear the holes out. But this noise is REALLY annoying.
hamzta09
No Physical stores in Sweden sell these "Gaskets" sadly. Only filters.
Dag_3
I believe a 'gasket' in this contex is a simple rubber ring you place on the screw between the fan and the chassis to reduce vibration.
Specter
You have a H80i, it can already control the speed of the fans without buying additional hardware. Install Corsair Link and set your own custom curve of how fast you want the fans to spin based on the liquid temp. That's all there is to it. The cable youre intended for use with CL isnt exactly long. And since Im running SLi the cable has no way of reaching the USB below the GPUs. Regarding Gaskets, there are none sold at all not even in webshops. Only fanfilters, I guess one could remove the filter from the fanfilters and just use the "Bracket" but its not exactly rubber and doubt it would help. If I used the fans as intake, might help, but the amount of air coming in would be lowered by quite a bit. So I have a QUICK question: May I mount the RAD directly onto the back of the case, and use just ONE fan? This one fan would be mounted on the inside and blowing through the radiator, rad would then vent air out of case. I believe the temp difference would only be around 5c or so depending on the fan? Am I able to use just one fan with the Y splitter? Or will the "controller" freakotu and think theres something wrong?
hamzta09
So it appears its the fan mounted between case and rad thats making the noise. Even removing the grill on the case doesnt improve anything. Above 1100 rpm the noise is annoying, then as you go upwards, Unbearable. So Ive set it to never exceed 1100 rpm in CL. The rear fan (inner fan) is set to 1600 rpm (lower at idle obv) I wouldnt recommend this H80i to anyone though, as you apparently have to buy things separately just to operate it properly without your work or hobby being interrupted by annoying noises. Specter
What kind of case are you using that prevents you from routing a cable from the CPU socket of the case to the bottom? The cable included to connect to the USB port is more than 12" long, SLI should not get in the way of the cable if you route the cable behind the motherboard tray. This would be allot easier if you post a picture of what your setup looks like inside the case

hamzta09
yes you can,you wont have any issues doing things this way... I can not as the screws are too long. Anyway, I did as I posted earlier. Its simply a case of Corsair not providing any spacer between case and fan.
