Ktululady
I was looking at my settings on the Catalyst Control Center. The temperature was 54 degrees, I started running Fur Mark stress test to see what my settings would change to and the temperature went up to over 80 degrees but the fan on my GS 600 didn't come on, is that normal? Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted September 26, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 26, 2014 Catalyst Control Center is not telling you the temperature of the PSU, so what does it matter what it says?
Ktululady
So what is it telling me? And how do I find the temperature of the psu? Sorry for my ignorance, I am new to all this.
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted September 26, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 26, 2014 You don't find the temperature of the PSU. There's no thermal interface that you can access. Of course, "HD 7900" isn't a graphics card, but a series, assuming that you have something like the 7970, that has a max TDP of 250W. TDP for a 3570K is only 77W. So even if you account for around 75 extra watts for everything else (fans, drives, etc.), you're only talking about 400W. You're going to be hard pressed to stress that PSU out to the point where the fan turns on. Best thing to try is to OC the CPU and GPU (this is the only way you're going to be able to consume power beyond the TDP rating) and run Furmark and Prime95 at the same time. Koozz
Hello, For some reason unable to find how to start a new thread. My PSU GS 600 is quite noisy but at the same time the fan is not really spinning, it' s just trying to start spinning from time to time. Really? I understand that it's not supposed to spin all the time but why all that noise all the time at idle? what's going on?
