ill
New machine: Asus Z97 Pro (Wi-Fi ac) Corsair AX860i Corsair H100i I uninstalled the older Corsair Link software because I was getting an error message every time I attempted to update the H100i firmware. I installed this: Corsair Link Software Update Release Candidate Version 2.7.5339 After rebooting the PC, I started the Corsair Link updater. I received a message that there was an error with the firmware update due to the connection. I have a wireless connection and I'm next to the router. Said to reboot. I did and received an alert during the post that the CPU fan failed. I was directed to setup. Nothing I can do in setup. I looked at the CPU temp and it is 32 degrees Celsius. The CPU fans are working, but I can't get through a complete post. What can I do? Thanks for your help. Oh, the LED on the H100i CPU water block is no longer white. It is red. Toasted
You can turn off the CPU_FAN warning which will allow you to POST normally. Open the software and try a firmware reflash and see if it can get your H100i working normally again.
ill
Thanks for your reply. I tried that and it didn't work. In the bios under monitor I set the monitor to ignore the fan. I was able to boot up, but the fans turned at the top rpm and the corsair link displayed no updates. The link didn't see the H100i. I submitted a trouble ticket. I figure Corsair will authorize an RMA and send a refurbished H100i. While waiting, I'll purchase a new H100i and never update the firmware. Don't want to take a chance and go through this again. Toasted
You can contact customer service instead and request an advanced RMA. An advanced RMA basically means you get the replacement H100i first, then you send your faulty H100i back to them. This process requires a valid CC. You can call customer service using Skype by calling their toll-free number which can be found on their website.
