Klompet
Hey everyone, I'm mid-build atm and trying to decide on a PSU. In terms of wattage I fall in a really good ballpark for a ax1200i (thanks to maxwell!) but as I'm running 4 gtx 980s in this build, I need 8 6 pin plugs for video cards alone, it seems that the ax1200i will be good but can I use the ports labeled peripheral/sata for pcie power or is that a no no? sandstorm1
that psu is pretty weak for 4 gtx 980's each card can pull 265-275 watts, even at 250 each that leaves you 200 for everything else. I would think you need a 1500 watt. also you can use a molex connector for the last pcie cable you need.
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted September 25, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 25, 2014 I'd get the AX1500i. Won't have to worry about adapters with that PSU. ;):
