formaggino
I have a bad stick of 512Mb of PC3500C2PT that doesn't work well at default settings, it makes hundreds of errors with memtest86 testing software but it goes well at only 200mhz. can I change it with another one ? how can I get an rma # ? My Motherboard is an Abit NF7-s and I try any value of Vram setting 2,6 --> to 2,9 I tryied too to change the slot where the stick is inserted with another stick of memory of the same kind the pc works well tnx
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 3, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 3, 2004 Can you tell me the CPU speed and its FSB as well? In addition, please tell me if you have the latest BIOS installed on your system and the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? formaggino
Can you tell me the CPU speed and its FSB as well? In addition, please tell me if you have the latest BIOS installed on your system and the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? my cpu is an AMD xp-m 2500+ (with unlocked multiplier) the results are the same in any cpu speed and fsb settings over 205mhz (But PC3500 sticks could work fine @ 217fsb and with 2,6/2,7Vdimm) so, if I set 205x9= 1845mhz memtest run without errors also at 205x11=2255mhz but if I set 207x9=1863mhz or 207x8=1656mhz or 207x11=2277 , or higher fsb values, memtest86 detect hundreds of errors, also if I high the Vdimm to 2,8 or 2,9v with another stick of the same kind (512Mb PC3500C2PT) I can work fine without errors on memtest86 at: 210x10 / 215x10(2,8v) / 220x10 (2,9v) the Motherboard is the rev 2.0 and have the latest bios revision (ID: 2.6) installed
