caleb87
I'm on my eighth occurrence where my computer shuts down immediately; I try to reboot and it starts for 1-2 seconds then turns off. It keeps trying to reboot until I unplug it. I can unplug it many times and it will do the same thing; however when I move it to a new outlet it will reboot fine. I can then move it back to the old power strip and it works again. Any ideas?
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted September 9, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 9, 2014 Is the outlet properly grounded?
caleb87
Yes, I checked and it is grounded and working correctly. I also had the PSU fail to start even when plugging it into another outlet now. I was also able to turn my computer on immediately after it powered off; but it seems to be getting worse. 3 shut downs this morning. I don't know why moving it to a new outlet used to fix it, but now it doesn't seem to matter. I am debating a new PSU, but this unit was $250 so I would prefer to figure it out. I can't believe there isn't any error messages or information to debug this. It's driving me nuts.:eek::sigh!:
Dwindleflip
Get a UPS battery backup from cyberpower, and a new PSU. Everyone should have a UPS battery backup, just make sure it doesnt have stepped output. That should solve power all problems.
