macgrads
I have a matched set of CMX512-3700 modules (XMS3700v1.1, 0325083). They have worked well for the past year in an Asus P4C-800 Deluxe MB with memory timings set to those recommended by Corsair. I recently installed them in an Asus P4P-800E-Deluxe MB and the computer will not post. I then installed the RAM modules in a Shuttle XPC case that is running with another set of RAM modules, and this system would not POST (screen remains blank). I have tested the CPU and motherboard with other components and these work fine. Please advise as to the next steps I should take. Thanks, JC
Wired
What happens when you put the modules back into the original system?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 1, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 1, 2004 If possible to please test the module again with the P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard, now if it posted then I will suggest you try to clear the BIOS on your MB (there should be a jumper.) After clearing the CMOS on your MB, please try to install the module again and see if it boots up, if it doesn't please try to test the module one at a time on the MB and try all 4 DIMM slots. Please let us know how it turns out.
macgrads
Sorry for the delayed reply, I've finally had time to follow up on the posted suggestions. When I put the modules back in the original system, the system will not POST. After clearing CMOS, and placing both modules in the system, it will not POST. I have also tried clearing the CMOS and putting each stick of RAM in each of the memory slots, still no POST. I also have access to a system with a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 GT motherboard, that is running with different ram. When I put either or both of the CMX512 sticks in, this system will not POST. If you have any other suggestions, I can give them a try, otherwise, I would like to get an RMA # for an exchange. Thanks
