Raeldion
Hi, I was wondering if I could use cable extensions (more specifically the Bitfenix Alchemy ones) on a Corsair AX1500i, since the original Corsair sleeved cable kits are not readily available where I live and I don't have the time to sleeve the cables myself. According to various reviews and the Bitfenix official specifications, it seems that the bundled cables use 16AWG for ATX 24-pin, EPS 8-pin and video card power cables, while the corresponding extensions use 18AWG: I believe that this difference shouldn't cause any problems, but it still worries me. The other power cables should be 18AWG on both the bundled kit and the extensions, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks in advance for your help.
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted September 3, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 3, 2014 Shouldn't matter. You're plugging them into the ends of the cables and not the connectors that actually plug into the PSU's modular interface. So any cable extensions would work with any PSU. Raeldion
Great, thanks a lot for your help. And by the way, thank you for the reviews on your website too (you've been my main source of PSU reviews for quite some time now)!
