750D owners? Confused about how to mount HDD cage

Hey guys. I'm trying to mount one of the 750D's drive cages to underneath the optical drive bays, but I'm really stuck on how it's supposed to slide in.

I can slot the left side of the cage in, but on the other side of the cage there's a raised area that prevents it from sliding in and it just ends up hitting the frame of the case. There's probably something really simple I'm missing here, but I really can't work it out..

If necessary, I can post a few pics to better explain what I mean.

750D or 760T: The drive cage slides right in from the front of the case. The 2 drive cages are the same. Look under the upper bay module; there is a tab bent down to stop the drive cage insertion. I assume you unscrewed the left drive cage and slid it into "rail" under the drive bay module; it slides in until it hits a that tab stop. At first, it does not look right; it seems it should go flush with the drive bay. But, look down from the top of your case and you will see it lines up perfectly with the lower drive cage. On the top left front of the drive cage, one hole lines up so you can secure the cage. I would remove the 2 screws from the bottom of the drive cage and remove (& save) the cage case mount to allow more air to flow by it. Also, if you remove the left drive cage from the bottom of your case, you expose an unfiltered "intake" you need to block or filter. I added a 120 mm intake fan, added a 3rd party fan guard on the inside and a fan filter on the outside.

Good luck, it is a beautiful case that shows off the expensive equipment we bought.

Hey again, I managed to work it out a little while after starting this thread.

My problem was that I wasn't aligning the cage perfectly from the outside of the case. So only one side was attaching/sliding into the rails. I felt pretty stupid after I worked it out, but it wasn't mentioned in the included manual either.

Thanks for the detailed reply, Protocol, I plan on doing the same with the unfiltered intakes. Add some third party filters and put 2 x 120mm intakes there. :D:

Check out Demciflex filters, they are pretty pricey, but they are extremely nice filters. They also make custom filter kits for several popular cases including the 750D. They are really really fine meshed and don't block airflow too badly. I own one for my 750D and can take a few pics if you would like.

I do not believe this instruction is complete (excuse me if I didn't understand). Behind the front fans (which must be removed) are two holes in the front of the case that line up with a threaded hole on each of the two enclosures (which can be joined together and screwed tightly together). The cage(s) are simply not in any way well secured by using just the one screw. The two for combining the two cages, the two attaching to the case front, and the one screw you talk about on the upper left equals five screws needed while the cages only came with four. If you need more, just leave a handful in any drawer and they'll reproduce (ha ha). Sadly, the manual makes no mention of any of this. :[pouts:
