mthompson18593
I can't seem to find an answer anywhere, but does anyone know if the built in hard drive cables on the hot swap bays support SATA 6 gbs? I know most SATA III cables have white tips and the 540 cables are all black.
Lady Fitzgerald
All but the very cheapest, crappiest (not to mention ancient) SATA cables support SATA III. Rating cables for SATA II or SATA III is a marketing scheme to "justify" charging more for SATA cables. Also, not all "SATA III" cables have white tips; in fact, I've never seen a SATA cable with white tips. I don't know where you got that notion. The color would not matter.
