moisiss
I was having some trouble with my 1500 headphones and skype... so I "upgraded" the drivers and control panel software(2.0.26). Well, I really HATE the new version of the software (no mic loopback controls, and the 7.1 mode just puts a really crappy reverb on everything). Anyway, I would like to get the old software back... anyone know where I can do this? One of the reasons I bought this headset was for the mic loopback function and now I don't have that.... :(
Toasted
Here's the link for driver 1.1.1 http://www.corsair.com/~/media/Corsair/download-files/drivers/audio/v1500driver_1-1_1.exe
moisiss
Thanks for the driver/software link! Unfortunately, the problem with skype is back... :( Maybe you can help? Here's what's going on.... I turn my system on with the headset plugged in and have audio and mic (sound plays through the headphones and I'm getting a reading in the windows sound applet saying that the mic is working). Then I start up skype and everything falls apart! Basically, I can either get sound.. or mic... not both at the same time. And this also breaks whichever isn't working in all other programs too! So, if the sound isn't working in skype when I close skype the sound still doesn't work with anything else (youtube, itunes, etc). Same goes for the mic. This all worked flawlessly a week and a half ago... and it has since I got the headset a year ago. I have no idea what is going on. Any ideas? moisiss
OK, so I got the mic and sound working at the same time with skype.... finally. I plugged the headset into a usb 2.0 port (which I'm not sure why this worked as it was fine on my usb 3.0 ports for about a year)... BUT, now I have no mic loopback... :( This is using the 1.1 driver/software package! I don't know what else to try at this point... I just want it to work like it did a week ago. Any help would be appreciated.

moisiss
Well, that worked... for one day. :( I was able to use my headset yesterday (plugged in through a USB 2.0 hub) and everything worked fine.... but today I tried to use it again and it suddenly doesn't work at all. The only thing I did between then and now was update my razor synapse 2.0 software. Now I plug my headset in (same exact port and all) and it doesn't recognize that it is even plugged in. The driver/software doesn't fire up and I get no sound out of the headset. When I try to start the software manually it says "plug in the corsair USB device". When I plug the headset into another USB port it tries to install the driver automatically but just says "driver failed to install". I tried uninstalling the driver, resetting, and re-installing the driver but it does nothing. Could this be a driver conflict with my razor synapse software? Is my headset dying? This just keeps getting worse.
Toasted
If it only stopped working after updating the Razer software, temporarily uninstall it and see if the headset works normally again.
moisiss
So I uninstalled razor synapse 2.0 and tried again. The only thing that changed was that the windows update was able to install the driver... sort of. It said that my corsair vengeance 1500 was ready to use. Unfortunately, I still had no sound or mic (didn't even show as an option in my sound devices). I don't know what is going on. It's weird that it would just stop working overnight like that. I can't think of anything else that I have changed at all. Everything worked fine for about a year until about a week ago... on USB 3.0 ports none the less. I took my system apart to change the tubes in my water loop and to install a fan controller (didn't install any new software for the fan controller). Since then my headset hasn't worked correctly. Not sure what would cause this. I am on windows 7 64-bit. The only other thing I changed was that I installed rainmeter (UI software) and some skins for that. But I had that installed yesterday and my headset worked (only through a USB 2.0 hub though.. I couldn't get it to work with USB 3.0 and skype). Toasted
Check Device Manager and see if there are any errors mentioned under the status of the headset. Have you tried uninstalling the software and drivers and reinstalling them?
