jameyscott
I decided to make a video for the AX1500i that I received from the Corsair Domination Competition. This is just an Unboxing/Overview because I wanted to shoot a video before I got it in my system. There is going to be a proper review of it later on, I just need to pick up some more gear to properly test it. I will be pushing it to its absolute limits with a 3930k and triple 780s that are overvolted like crazy! Don't want to get you too excited though. ;) [ame= ] [/ame]
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted August 30, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 30, 2014 Lot's of "holy crap, this thing is HUGE!" in the video. LOL!
wytnyt
That PSU is certainly for full size cases only;):
jameyscott
I fit it in my Air 540. ;) @JonnyGuru Yeah man, I was honestly just surprised by the sheer size of the PSU. I can't wait to get around to playing with it with the three overvolted 780s. That should be fun. ;)
wytnyt
I fit it in my Air 540. ;) ;) yours maybe but not my 540 but then unlike you I don't need all that power, however if it were free,Id be worthy of yet another mod ...:D:
jameyscott
yours maybe but not my 540 but then unlike you I don't need all that power, however if it were free,Id be worthy of yet another mod ...:D: Not mods were required, besides maybe redrilling holes for the PSU mount under the modular cable plugs, but I just have it sitting there because it's not moving, so it'll be fine. I don't really "need" the AX1500i, but it sure is going to be fun for some testing. ;) I just wish I had an HXi750 or AX760 for my second system now, because my old PSU (G2 1300w) is now in a system with a quad core chip and a single 780... Kinda complete overkill. :P
wytnyt
no i meant me having to mod,in fact at this point it would be like a total redo,,,of course im sure you'll agree it would be worth it...;):
jameyscott
Oh yes. ;) I really wish I could go ahead and get the Kill-a-watt and the few other things I need to do the testing, but alas it'll have to wait until mid next month. Hopefully it'll be cooler as well, because I want the lowest ambients possible when pushing 1.3v+ on three 780s and 1.5v+ on the CPU...

jameyscott
I only have one air vent since my office is a converted garage. However, I do have two window units totalling 22000 BTUs, so I should be fine. :P
