You did not mention if you had a Link Commander or Mini. I have and H100i, not much different. Make sure you plug the fan into the pump and plug the little fan wire from the pump into your motherboard's CPU fan header. The other wire goes to your PSU power cable. Then you plug the enclosed USB cable into the pump and to a USB 2.0 MB header. When my Link software did not show the H100i, I unplugged the USB 2.0 connector while my PC was running, then rebooted my PC, then plugged the USB 2.0 connector back into the MB, and rebooted again. Then my Link software saw the H100i and I was able to control the pump and fan speeds. The same technique also worked for me on my Commander Mini to get it to see the H100i.

First, check that the hardware is detected by windows and shows a driver in the device manager. If it does not, you have a bigger problem than the link software (see USB plug switch advice above). If it is showing, then you have pretty much got there. Thing is, Corsair Link does not support the H80i out of the box on Win8.1 as power saving USB features in the OS are not compatible. You need to apply a registry tweak, which has been regularly detailed in these forums, to trick it into thinking it is compatible. You need to uninstall Link, reboot, apply the reg tweak, reboot, then install Link. It should then work. If you don't uninstall first, it will only work once but will fail on subsequent boots.

Update your firmware if necessary as soon as you get Link working.

You may be wondering why there's no warning on the box that this hardware is only compatible with legacy OSs. If so, you are not the only one.

  • 2 weeks later...

Other than reinstalling you may also want to try one of 2 things that may help link see the h80.

First just close the software, including right clicking in the bottom right and closing link. then restart it. Windows will ask for admin privileges, and if that doesn't work go to options>general>reset to default. then do the same procedure close all the way then restart the software.

If neither of those works uninstall, remove the appdata folder like protocol48 said, do a cold boot, and see if that gets it.

Also you may wanna check your firmware on the h80i...

Let us know if that works for you.
