Corsair Link Has Disowned My H80i

So.. I built a new pc, FX-8320 + H80i + Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 Motherboard.

I installed it exactly as it said, tried the link cable in both my header slots on my board. The fans spin.. And since there is yet to be an explosion of almighty flames I can safely assume it is cooling properly. Also the corsair symbol lights up white and stays solid.

I am on windows 8.1 pro 64 bit. I have updated all my drivers including my motherboard obviously. And downloaded the only available version of corsair link. Upon opening it.. It detected all of my case fans, my gfx card my chip etc etc.

But! No H80i.. Like nothing.. Does not exist never did exist. No sign of anything of a h80i.. All that happened was I opened it.. It detected my usb something was out of date for the H80i it installed that.. And then nothing..

I can see the Hardware ID of it in device manager.. I also did the fabled registry edit to no effect. Ran it in windows 7 mode and all that Jazz. I have gone through a ton of "Fixes on the net thus far"

I am out of ideas.. ): I just want to change my led's and configure my fans man!

Alright I fixed it thank god...

After multiple registry edits + registry resets. And about 1 million resets, about 15 reinstalls, about 2 hours with my head up my H80i's *** I got it.

I have no idea how.. But after this time I booted link up, and boom there it was! H80i came up with the pump + fans + led settings.

So the software can be tricky.. But the cooler itself is a fantastic piece of technology in cooling performance and looks. *Fingers crossed*

If I had to guess.. I would say it was my excessive swearing at my screen. ;)

I shall blame Windows 8 for this. As my previous corsair liquid worked fine with link on win 7.

Much better now: http://i59.tinypic.com/j0d17d.jpg

It's not picking up my top exhaust, but I know how to fix that. And the fact it's telling porky pies about my ssd. 99 degrees? But cold to the touch. Mkay. :P
