Fenweekooo
Hey all, i just got a H80i a few days ago and despite the software pains i have gotten it to work. the issue? im having is that weather the fans are in quiet mode or set to maximum speed makes no difference in the cpu temp. In either case the cpu stays under load (bf4 64 player map for 1+ hour) at 56 +/- 5 degrees C. (i have also run prime95 benchmark for 30+ mins) cpu rind closer to 75C with that bun results stay the same Shouldn't the fan speed have any effect on the cpu temp? Speed
Well, you can call it a "feature". It is testament to the thermal depth and efficiency of the radiator; and that is a good thing. Look at it this way: a given thermal interface can only transfer X amount of energy per second into the medium in which it resides. If the surrounding medium (air) is Y temperature, only a finite amount of energy will be transferred into it within that time frame. After that point, blowing more of the medium across the interface does nothing. Only if the total interface area is NOT sufficient at a given volume rate, does moving more medium across it have any influence.
Fenweekooo
hmm ok well this is the best answer i have got so far so i guess i am happy :)
wytnyt
using layman's terms:D: low fan flow will produce @ the same cooling ability as maxflow, youll notice tho with a constant long load max fans will help keep the water cooled better as the water gets saturated...
