PHR
Hello everyone, Someone knows if the memory kit XMS3 of 12 GB -3x4 (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/xms3-12gb-triple-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmx12gx3m3a1333c9) are "Dual Rank" Memories (explanation in http://www.oempcworld.com/support/SinglevsDualRAM.html). I want to increase memory capacity of my Dell Precision T7500 with two processors of Quad Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5500 Series. I'd want to change the memory to 12 GB (3 of 4GB) per processor, and the manual (http://sivirt.utsa.edu/Documents/Manuals/precision-t7500_Service%20Manual_en-us.pdf) indicate that I must use Dual Rank memories in order to achieve that. However, I have the doubt if the memories above I talk above meet this condition because the pictures of Corsair does not shown the Tag to verifi it, like the article of PC World says. Please advise,
emissary42
Newer pieces will probably be single ranked. There's no way for me to tell and probably even Corsair Tech Support would need to know the LOT code first.
Administrators Technobeard Posted August 24, 2014 Administrators Share Posted August 24, 2014 Correct, we don't list rank information on modules, and we'd need more information. For a Dell system (especially a Dell Precision workstation), I'd suggest purchasing Dell memory direct from them.
