900d designation serial numbers??

I didn't want to piggy-back off my other post the 900D being out of stock in this slightly related question.

My computer builders are sourcing the out of stock 900D from other 3rd party sources. What I don't want (greedy I know!) is the 3rd party supplying as it were a 1st generation 900D, if such a designation existed.

Does anyone know if the 900D cases or in fact Corsair gives their cases designation serial numbers or manufacturers coding which indicates that a case may be from pre-March 2014 as opposed to a post March 2014 (I use that date purely to illustrate my question). I may be over simplifying the issue but I would rather wait a couple more weeks for the case which had improvements included compared to the possibility of obtaining a 'first generation' release more quickly.

Thanks in advance for answers on this tiny issue that is bugging me. But I'm of the opinion that updated product quality is a must in order for a manufacturer to start talking with words such as excellence, thoroughbred, perfection, evolve and superiority.

Actually no assumptions or any prompts from rumours. Just every other component in a computer has alterations or improvements. Either those components are renamed or given a totally different name for marketing purposes, cases 'seem' to be immune from that. If there are no alterations in the 900d range from the first one off the production line, then I can be confident that my computer builder when they have to source the 'out of stock' case from a 3rd party supplier that the reason that they have stock is because it's old!!

To labour the point. I was searching online for an iPad mini for the wife, either I chose to have the iPad with an older processor, older OS and no retina display or I could get the latest release. It's still called an iPad mini, but I can tell the newer model from an older one.

Most retailers that have them on stock now are the ones that sell them with a higher price tag, I don't think the 900D has a batch number where you can stick a date on ( it's not like some photo camera's where there were older batches or s/n numbers that had a better build quality). If you buy a case that's 2 years old or a one from this year production, they are the same. So, go for the cheapest retailer or web shop, but also importend, take a look how the return policy is from that shop, if you get a faulty one.
