staynless
So I am starting my third year of Computer Science and need to upgrade from my laptop badly to a desktop so here is my selection of parts: Case Vengence C70 Motheboard Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H Socket 1150 Processor and Cooling i7-4770K Corsair H100i with SP120-PWM High Performace Fans Video card Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Vapor-X OC 4GB DDR5 512Bit System Memory Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 2x8GBDDR3 2400 MHz CL11 Storage SSD Intel 730 Series 240GB Source Corsair RM Series 1000W My questions are: 1.Should I go for AF120 Performance Edition fans for the case or the AF120 Quiet Edition be enough for the front intake, I like my PC on the silent side. 2.Are the SP120-PWM High Performance Fans controllable trough the Corsair LINK software without any Corsair Link Kit, so I can turn the RPM up and down depending on the CPU temp/load ,or do the fans spool up and down by default depending in the CPU temp? Thanks guys for the help!
pegotico
Hi If you like silence the AF120 Quiet Edition are great fans, move good amount of air but I would definitely go with the AF140 quiet edition which are better, move more air at less db. So wherever you can fit 140's go with that, for the others use the AF120 Front: (x2) 120mm Top: (x2) 120/140mm Rear: (x1) 120mm Bottom: (x2) 120/140mm Side: (x2) 120/140mm MId: (x2) 120mm Also what are your uses? Why not go for devil's canyon (i5 4690k) or (i7 4790K) The i5 would save you some money which could go towards a better psu and I would definitely go for the AX series from corsair which is their flagship psu. Your gpu requires a 750 watt psu so you would be ok with the AX760i or AX860i.
wytnyt
the software isnt enough to control your fans,as luck would have it the corsair link mini has just been released and this will control your fans and provide you with your cooling needs...
