ASUS A7N8X TwinX CMX512-3200XL

I am having real trouble with my motherboard and this Ram. I am on my second batch, "CORSAIR replaced the first set a defective."

I have an ASUS A7N8X rev. 1.04 BIOS 1007, AMD XP3200.

The ram is Corsair TwinX CMX512-3200XL. I am using the user defined settings of, 100% mem. freq., (tRAS):6T,(tRCD):3T,(tRP):2T,CAS Latency:2T

Dim Voltage of 2.7.

I can boot all the way to Windows "XP Pro" but then it freezes up every time.

I have tried every slot, and every combination, of either one or both sticks.

Each time I get the same outcome. My Bios reads the memory correctly, as 1024 gig's at 200Htz running in dual channel mode. So I don't think this is defective memory. I think I need some other Bios setting options.

Please help if you can, these were too expensive not to get working.

Thank you.

Could this be a power supply problem? I am using an N-Spire 420 watt power supply with a WD 80gig HD, CD-Rom ,Cd-Burner, floppy, 4-Port USB2 hub, ATI 9700 Pro card, Audigy2 sound card, USB Printer, USB Scanner.

Please help if you can, these were too expensive not to get working.

Thank you.

Please make sure that you have set the jumper settings on your MB from the default 1-2 (133/166/200) to 2-3 (200) FSB only and that you have latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/Optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings;

TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200XL

CPU Freq: 200 MHz (400 FSB)

System Performance: User Define

Memory Frequency: 100%

Resulting Frequency: 200 MHz (400 FSB)

Memory Timing: User Define

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 2T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 5T

DDR Reference Voltage: 2.8 Volts

AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!*

All other settings are motherboards defaults

Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!

I ran Memtest 86 last night with all of the settings you sugested. I ran 4-passes on each stick. One of the sticks generates 33 errors, and the other has only 3. I then tried both at once, for 2-passes and received 33 errors and during the 2nd pass the system froze. I also tested the configuation of my 3-sticks of PC2700 kingston running in dual channel. No errors on 2-passes. What should I do next? I am running out of faith. I don't know if "ZIPZOOMFLY" will give me a refund. I have had this product for well over two months now, including the exchange time with Corsair for this batch of new stuff. I would really like to get something to work.

Thanks again for your help. :[pouts:
