Demolitionman
This is by far one of the worst ram companies ever. I have got nothing but crap from you guys. I have a 1 gig of Corair Pc3200 ram, after awhile, not being overclocked or messed with I started getting errors. So I come on these forums to request for an RMA, I get my RMA number and I send it back to you guys, I sent it Priority 2 Day shipping, seeing as I live in California, same as Corsair it should get their in no time. About A month passed, nothing ! I had my friend contact Corsiar and they said they still had not received the package, in 2 days I had a package from Corsair, With my sam Ram in it ! I guess it passed your tests. Thats why I get Crashes to the desktop and memory errors in windows. It still doesn't pass memtest. I am very mad, I spent my money on this ram, Beleiving you cared - and my ram has a lifetime warranty, and you guys don't see that ? I will never buy corsair again, and I beleive that you guys have caused me more trouble than the rams worth. I am down 150$ because of you, and I can barely do anything on my PC. I hope you guys go Bankrupt - Careless jerks -Brice Murrie
Gorganzola
What testing methodology did you use to determine that the memory was at fault? Did you happen to start a thread on these forums about the issue you were having with the memory to start with?
Demolitionman
What testing methodology did you use to determine that the memory was at fault? Did you happen to start a thread on these forums about the issue you were having with the memory to start with? I dont want help, I am making a complaint . Help is me buying new ram, because corsair sucks. I know the rams at fault when I get crashes to the desktop, sometimes with "Error Memory cannot be read" and when the ram doesn't pass Memtest or Prime95. And when replaced with other modules it works fine (tested my friends ram). I am Stating that I had a bad run in with Corsair- and if they cared about their customers they would read this and try to fix something or make me happy. Gorganzola
My objective in asking was to get that additional information in this thread so that when Corsair looks at it, it is clear. The fact that not only did Memtest and Prime95 have issues but that other memory work eliminates everything but the memory. So, all that is left is to get your problem sorted. Sorry for intruding on the topic. I dont want help, I am making a complaint . Help is me buying new ram, because corsair sucks. Wired
Demolitionman, Is this the memory and system you previously mentioned? Memory: 2 x VS512MB400 Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-7N400 Pro2 CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2500+ At the time of testing, what were your memory timings set to? I realize that the other sticks work fine with whatever settings they are ATM, however I just want to list all the facts to expidite it all. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 5, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 5, 2004 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; VS1GBKIT400 or VS512MB400 Advanced Chipset Features (Ctrl + F1) CPU Clock: 166 MHz Memory Frequencylock: 100% Resulting Frequency: 166 MHz Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T Frequency Voltage Control CPU Freq: 166 Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts (+.2) AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI 9200 or 9600 then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! Wired
Demolitionman, I have deleted your recent posts. Ram Guy and myself can still see them, however the general public cannot. DO NOT post ANYTHING like that again. Have you ever heard the phrase "you'll get more with honey than vinegar"? What I'm saying is that cursing like crazy won't help anything. FYI, because they are not open on the weekends, you will not see a reply until Monday, however I'll see if Ram Guy is willing to interrupt his well deserved time off to answer this thread. Regardless of your attitude, Corsair will help you because of their lifetime warranty, however if I were in Ram Guy's shoes, I wouldn't bother wasting my precious time off to answer you until Monday. Granted, a lot of the intriguing language in your posts can probably be attributed to frustration, however some simply cannot. Update: Check your PMs Demolitionman.
