High H100i idle temps.

Hey,

I built my PC last year and got in overclocking 2 weeks ago, and since then im always looking at my CPU temprature. I`ve noticed that the temprature rises up to high 80s @4.7Hz@1.275v . I always tweaked the overlock a bit because i thougth it was a bad oc, after a while i took the oc off abd run it on stock again and while in idle sometimes the temp rises to mid 50s. I reapplied the cooler block with arctic silver 5 and the temp did not change at all. Corsair link doesn`t recognize the h100i anymore after i installed an update, and i cant get it to install the drivers for the usb header. Is it broken ? I can feel very little vibraiton but it could be from the graphics card. I will check the UEFI/BIOS if it detects the h100i usb.

Sorry for my bad english its not my native language :)

4.7 is a rather high oc for a 3770 cpu using a all in one hydro,,,if i were to guess id say youve degraded the cpu and its adding additional heat in order to function,,,assuming of course the paste is spread good and dropping the clock cools it down...

you also may have a setting in your oc affecting temps...

i took it off when i saw the temps.... and i saw guys running a 4.7@1.35v and it run just fine. I will mount the stock intel cooler an look if the temps are around the same if yes i am quit sure its broken...
