Intro: Black Gold is probably my most recognizable build, and it caught the attention of a friend in Cali. He reached out to me and said he wants a pc exactly like black gold, but with his choice of components. As with the first one, I want this build to be so clean, that people would think it came from a factory this way. All parts will be color matched to promote the overall theme through out the build. Attentional to detail is rule #1 We Decided to go with the following parts: Parts:Corsair Air 540Intel i7 4960x2 x Evga Titan Black Signature32gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 2666mhzAsus x79 deluxeCorsair Ax1200i2 x 256 Gb Samsung Pro SSD2 TB Western Digital Black HDDWindows 8.1 Pro H2o Parts5 x Corsair SP120 Quiet1 x Corsair AF1402 x EK Titan Block Black NickelEK d5 pump w/140ml ResMonsoon Gold FittingsBitspower drainageCoolgate 240 RadCoolgate 360 Rad

Abirli
Update 3 : Case Disassembled and GPu Blocks installed When building I like to start with a blank canvas so to speak. So I took all the panels and drive bays etc out to expose the bare bones. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1780_zpscbd0c7f7.jpg Next up, i dry fitted the Ax1200i into the case...* to the post above, i think if the how swap cables were there, they may infact cause fitment problem http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1783_zps095ed8d6.jpg next i eyed up where i think the pump should go, this will make it easier for filling, draining, and preserve the tube placement we saw in the first build. I will have to make some pretty heafty brackets to support the d5 beast http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1784_zps7510cb0c.jpg its going to be a tight fit with everything installed and all the wires! i wanted to start painting everything but they didnt have the proper paint at the store, so now i'll have to go to lowes or a home depot and get the right stuff. in the mean time i decided to install the EK FC blocks. didnt get too many pictures of this as you all have seen them a million times i'm sure. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1785_zps249d01e4.jpg crap photo:mad:, ill set up the light tent and get more tonight :thumb: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1789_zps5d5b8435.jpg More to come thanks
Abirli
Update 4 while i'm waiting for some bits and pieces to arrive i decided to start painting some of the pieces. A lot of people will ask so i snapped a photo of what paint i'm using. rattle can gold (non gloss) standard grey primer, and clear coat to protect it. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1820_zpsb151191c.jpg first i masked up the top and front grill bars. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1816_zps692288dc.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1817_zpsc53d7312.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1818_zpsea2be705.jpg primed them up http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1821_zps4d1497b5.jpg next up is the fan rings http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1823_zps12fb5d53.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1825_zps4d62d16f.jpg heres a photo of the fist coat of gold going on the i/o's http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1892_zpsaa026478.jpg looking real good! while the paint is drying i wanted to use the down time to cut some holes in the case. fortunately since i've done this before i knew where to cut and how much. i expanded this hole in the front of the case. this is where the front fan cables will go through. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1848_zpse1b46767.jpg the right arm of the hdd holder needs to come out too since it will interfere with the radiator fittings http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1849_zps6257d754.jpg the hot swap hole is going to be expanded as well for better cable routing, this will allow the HD audio cable to come through cleanly, as well as leaving enough space for the hdd cables to be installed. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1850_zps44d91b0c.jpg i like to use my tungsten bit for the dremel for these kind of this. it lets me take off little by little until i get the desired results http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1855_zpsa2da152b.jpg going to town! http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1856_zps341831cf.jpg cutting wheel used to remove hdd bracket http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1868_zps40b74d44.jpg cleaning up the cut http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1874_zps21945273.jpg hdd bracket gone http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1885_zpsf31fa949.jpg hot swap hole enlarged http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1889_zpsae84aff1.jpg Now that some of the case mods are done, and paint is drying i took this time to sleeve the i/o cables. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1891_zpsac31c609.jpg all cables in this build, as with all my builds are sleeved. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1893_zps40e4c1ec.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1894_zps78e3c68a.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1895_zps488d0b37.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1896_zpsf529c965.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/abirli/Black%20Gold%20V2/IMG_1897_zps68eb2a05.jpg thats it for today! forgot to order the screws for mount the rads, those should be here tonight. once those are installed i can get the proper lengths for all cables and start sleeving them! thanks !
