No wifi after failed Voyager Air Update to 2.0 via Mac Air

Downloaded 2.0, unzipped, drag and dropped into Voyager Air. Turned off, unplugged from Air, plugged into wall charger, turned back on. Blue light but no flashing wifi. Left to sit for a few, still no wifi. Have repeated process several times. Can read files when connected to Air via USB but still no wifi.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

1.+. I was trying to update to 2.0.17. Tried connecting and disconnecting from power source, with on/off power and wifi switches in different postions. If the unit is on, with the wifi switch off, and I then disconnect from power source, then turn on wifi, the wifi works. If it is plugged into the power source and I try, it doesnt work. If it is unplugged from power source, and the wifi is on, and then I plug it back into the power source, the wifi turns off.

Thanks

The network features are disabled when the Voyager Air is plugged in via USB. It shouldn't happen when plugged into a Wall adapter.

Back up your data and try the firmware update again.

Make sure the firmware update file is in the root folder e.g. E:\VoyagerAir-dev.pkg NOT E:\FolderName\VoyagerAir-dev.pkg

I suggest connecting via USB and running disc scan (looking for and fixing file corruption). The firmware update can be sensitive to that.

When you are running the update:

1. Copy the file to the highest-level (root) folder

2. Disconnect USB

3. Plug in the wall adapter

4. Power-cycle the drive - you should see the flashing WiFi icon within 30 seconds or so.

If not, please let me know.

Thanks for the response.

Checked the drive using the mac disk utility and it reported no problems.

Followed your instructions per above (same as install instructions I have been following) and still get no flashing wifi.

As soon as I unplug from power socket, wifi starts right up but no flashing.

I have been dragging and dropping using Finder. How do I know that I am am copying it to the root folder?

Thanks

Did you originally reformat your drive to HFS+? For whatever reason, the update seems more sensitive to disk issues on HFS+ drives.

The "last resort" is to move the drive contents (temporarily) to a different drive, reformat your drive, then try the firmware update again.

The root folder is the highest-level location on the drive - when you open it in Finder, copy the file to that location (not a subfolder).

If this doesn't work please let me know.

I assume that by simplying dragging and dropping the update into voyager, it is going in at the the highest level. I can find a higher level beyond that.

I never reformatted the drive; simply dragged and drop movie files.

So, now I need to reformat? Can't tell you I am thrilled with that. Should I start with 1.2.8 update after that?

OK, reformatted. Started with 1.2.8. Then 2.0. Just finished with 2.1. All seems good but it took a long time.

A couple of suggestions:

1) Much easier to manage process from Android device once after 1.2.8 was installed - couldn't find the web interface on the Mac using Chrome.

2) Much faster to download updates on Mac and then drop into Voyager then trying to download through wifi - since the connection was all the same, was surprised by this time difference.

Don't want to jinks myself but all seems good now.

Thanks
