GunmanX
My specs are: Abit IS7 bios rev 22 P 4 3.0 gig 800FSB Leadtech Winfast Geforce 6800 GT X2 512MB Corsair CMX512-3200C2PT running in dual channel mode in slots 1 and 3. Bios ram setting 2-3-3-6 I tried to run the latest memtest86 on my machine and kept getting memory failures. I read most of the posts on this forum and tried changing my ram speed around and varying the voltage, but this did not correct the error. Today, I tied memtest86 using one stick at a time. One of the sticks conistantly failed test 3 while the other passed all of the tests with no problems. I used memory slot 1 for both tests. I think I have a bad stick of ram. Any ideas? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 1, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 1, 2004 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200C2 Softmenu Setup CPU Freq: 200 DRAM Clock: 400 MHz CPU/DRAM ratio: 1:1 Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.75 Volts System performance: Standard AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI 9200 or 9600 then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Advanced/Chipset Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T (2.5T AMD Platform) SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T SDRAM Burst Length: 8 All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! GunmanX
My Abit IS7 board has the latest bios. I configured my bios as you recommended and still am getting failures on just the one stick of ram. My other identical stick runs the test with no errors. My other hardware must be good if the one stick continually passes. What do you think?

GunmanX
Wired and Ram Man. I submitted the e-mail rma request with the excel sheet attached yesterday. I still have not had any type of acknowledgement from your company. I will wait patiently next week, but will not be very patient if it takes more than a week to respond to a simple e-mail. And yes, I did fill everything out right both on the on-line form and the e-mail rma . excel sheet solution. GX
