Travis4261
I have a TX750W that I purchased from Newegg on 2/14/2011 about 3 1/2 years ago. Now the power supply comes with a 5 year warranty. Recently it sounds like the bearings in the fan have failed and now its making a LOT of noise. Will my warranty cover a new fan? If not how hard is it to replace said fan... it is just an awful sound and I need a solution ASAP! Thanks!!!

Travis4261
So you think the warranty would cover this. What concerns me is this statement from their website. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/support/warranty Exclusions This warranty does not cover problems or damage resulting from, but not limited to, any of the following: **** Wear and tear associated with normal use **** Any modification, abuse, accident, disassembly, misapplication, or unauthorized repair Removal of any manufacturer label(s) or sticker(s) Any improper operation, including any use not in accordance with any supplied product instructions Connection to any improper voltage supply Use of consumables, such as replacement batteries, not supplied by Corsair, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable local law Any other cause which does not relate to a product defect in materials or workmanship Is a bearing going bad wear and tear from normal use, or does the warranty gauruntee that all parts will hold up for 5 years? wytnyt
i would think the warranty would also cover the fan but as i said earlier once the rma is filed they will advise you of any particulars now i will say this tho,if this is replaced with a new unit, you will still only have 1.5 year warranty left.. Administrators Technobeard Posted July 29, 2014 Administrators Share Posted July 29, 2014 Yes, the warranty covers fan issues as it's part of the PSU. We'd need to replace the full PSU. Please create a support ticket at https://corsair.secure.force.com/ and attach your receipt to the ticket.
Travis4261
Yes it was covered under the warranty and I was connected with a rep and off the phone in under 9 minutes. Absolutely fantastic customer service, I choose the express RMA option... because face it even a loud PC is a PC... gotta have my PC LOL!
