jakeitup
So I have a general idea of what the problem is, which has something to do with the "hidserv" service, Human Interface Device service. I'll press pause, stop, skip forward, backwards, and I will get the "hour glass" system busy notification on my mouse cursor. If I go into the task manager and either restart the "hidserv" service, or stop and start it, the buttons will start working. Except the problem is, it just goes right back to not working a few minutes later. Any ideas on what I could try to remedy this? The particular program I'm using is foobar2k. Have also tried WMP and VLC and same issue.
Toasted
Latest drivers for your chipset and USB devices? Have you tried a different USB port? Do you have any other USB device e.g. a joystick connected to your computer?
jakeitup
Sorry for the late reply. I have all the latest chipset drivers, and have tried multiple USB ports, and no joystick connected. I have the Gigabyte ud3 990fxa Rev. 4 motherboard. Anyone got any ideas? This is pretty irritating.
jakeitup
After a bit of Googling, I found this thread which seems to have remedied my issue. Oddly, it was GOOGLE that was causing this problem... http://www.overclock.net/t/1458158/just-bought-a-corsair-k70-media-keys-not-working-its-brand-new Google Chrome will hijack your media keys if you have the Google Music extension installed. You can either uninstall it, or edit the media key options to "In Chrome" versus "Global"
