rcsays
I've been running a 256MB Corsair memory module (CMX256A-2700 C2) in my Gigabyte GA-7VRXP motherboard for about 2 years. It appears to have gone bad and I'm seeking replacement. However, the company that I originally bought the module from (micropro.com) appears not to exist anymore. So I am seeking to get a RMA from Corsair to replace the unit. What happens is when my system is running, it will shut down once the majority of the memory is accessed. The system will idle fine, but once an application or two is accessed the I lose video and the system goes into loop (power remains on). By a methodical process of elimination (disconnecting hard drives, installing a fresh OS on a clean drive, virus scans, spyware scans, system cooling testing, etc.) I've narrowed the issue down to the lone RAM module. I have read on the Corsair website that in order to process and RMA directly w/Corsair, I need to first post here in this forum. Please advise. Thanks. -Edrick. Wired
You have to give him more than 3 hours! If you need a RMA ASAP, you may want to call them at 1-888-222-4346
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 29, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 29, 2004 I would try and set the Dim Over Voltage Control to +.2 volts and see if that does not solve the problem, if not? Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
