Sabottx
I am questioning for the first time my old and trusting steed, the HQ1000W. I have a Gigabyte GV-R929OC-4GD that I installed to replace two Gigabyte GIGABYTE GV-R787OC-2GD that I ran for a year in xfire. The R9 290 is crashing every hour or so. Either during gaming sessions or while idle. It does not seem to matter.I believe it's a driver issue but I want to rule out the PSU. The R9 290 needs a min of 600w. From what I can tell on my PSU, it's has 500w per rail. Can this cause the crashes? Can I use both rails to power the GPU? I just want to confirm or elimate the PSU as a source. HOODedAssault
Hx1000 is basically 2 500 watt. So you basically have to split up the load. Ideally you want cpu and peripherals on 1 rail and gpu on the other. If it's crashing at idle I doubt it's psu. Unless cpu is loaded when gpu isn't and they are on the same rail.
