waldenelf
I experience a similar problem on my PC. I installed my brand new TWINX1024-3200XLPRO on my abit av8 and troubles immdeiately started. When I turn my machine on, I have shutdowns before OS is loaded (90% of times) or all a variety of unknown errors those few times the OS manages to start until I get, after few secs, the dreaded blue screen for an instant before pc shuts down. I removed the Corsair's and put on unbranded low cost sticks and everything got back to normality again, so I guess it could be a problem of finding the exact balance but i haven't managed to find it so far and I don't know what to do.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 29, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 29, 2004 Please put the memory module on slot 1 & 3; make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB, and set the following settings on your BIOS; TwinX512 or TwinX1024-3200XL Guru Utility CPU Operating Speed: Manual External Clock: 200/66/33 AGP Ratio (CPU/AGP/PCI): 6:2:1 Voltage Control: User Define DDR Voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI 9200 or 9600 then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Advanced Chipset/DRAM Configuration: DRAM Timing: User Define Memclock Value:400MHz Command Rate: 2T SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 5T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! waldenelf
Thank u for ur prompt reply.... i did as u suggested, but the crash persisted... only solution i've found so far (but it's not a solution at all) is to make the sticks run as they were DDR 333. At this point any - ANY - suggestion would be sincerely appreciated and blessed. Thank u... my current config is Athlon 64 3800 abit a8v fx 5700

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 3, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 3, 2004 Please test the memory modules with memtest, it should thoroughly test your modules and if there is a problem on one of the memory modules then it should give you an error.
