blackpudding
Hi all, I've had my K70 since Oct 2013. It's been perfect in every way until a week ago. One led died and then another a few days later. I've read about the LED issues but I've yet to come across any threads about random inputs while pressing keys; this issue started this morning. To best describe it, I'll type "Hi, how are you?" on the K70 and post the results. I've tested this out on 4 different computers and they all have the same random results. TL;DR... This is the result of typing "Hi, how are you?" on my K70 Blue: http://i.imgur.com/nwcr35r.png Figured I'd mention that I've updated the firmware on the K70 to 1.09 (K70FwUpdate 1.09 sw-1.3.exe) and still have the same results. Toasted
Request an RMA to replace the keyboard. Make sure you upload a picture of the invoice as proof of purchase. Note: If i remember correctly, the blue/silver model is discontinued. Your replacement will probably be a red L.E.D./Black aluminum.
blackpudding
I've requested an RMA, waiting on the results. At the time of posting this thread new accounts couldn't be created on https://corsair.secure.force.com I was mainly curious to see if anyone else had the same type of input issue that I'm experiencing. The led issue seems common. I just hope they're willing to ship the replacement to a different country than I originally ordered it from.
Toasted
RMAs are worldwide. It should be fine if you purchased the keyboard form a different country, as long as it is new.
Corsair Employees Fauxbeard Posted July 23, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 23, 2014 I had experienced a similar issue before on my K90 where extra characters were added when I typed. It was replicated on two machines so I unplugged it and used my K70 for a day. I was about to request a RMA and decided to plug in the K90 again to confirm which keys were producing the issues. However, I could no longer replicate the issue on the two machines I previously tested on. Mind you, nothing was changed on these two machines besides the K70. Actually, I'm currently using the K90 to type this. I'd say give this is a shot and let us know how it turns out.
blackpudding
Bunny> I just plugged it back into my 4 machines and have a similar issue. Not quite as many (about half as the previous example) extra characters but it still is unusable. Tried both USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, don't have access to any 1.x to try. Toasted> Glad to hear that they are worldwide. I bought it in the states from Newegg so all should be good :)
blackpudding
For anyone who is curious. The RMA went through and I received the new keyboard yesterday. They were kind enough to replace the CH-9000045-NA with the CH-9000066-KR (Korean layout). Here's a photo since I was unable to find one online. http://i.imgur.com/wjP10Ku.jpg
