milhouse_ph
Hi, I've been having some trouble with a module I purchased from a store in town which has gone out of business. So I'm hoping I could get an RMA number. I've filled out the RMA request form but it asked for a Post ID# so I'm including the specifics in here: Module is a: 512UDTZT3 (512MB PC2100 DDR-SDRAM) Here's the troubleshooting I've done so far, tested in 3 configurations: 1) ECS P4VMM2 w/ 1.75Ghz P4 - Computer will not post with module inserted. Motherboard is returning error beeps but unfortunately ECS doesn't list on their site or in the manual what they mean, lovely ;-). This was what prompted me to consider the stick of RAM 2) Shuttle AK31 w/ 1.4Ghz Duron - Computer will post with module inserted, however it hard locks immediately after testing memory (strangely enough I do get the post beep, but it never begins detecting the IDE drives). 3) ECS K7S5A w/ 1.0Ghz Duron - Computer will not post with module inserted. Motherboard returns no error beeps or any noises for that matter. In the above cases the only memory module inserted in any of the computers was the Corsair module and all of the computers work when a different module is inserted. All testing was done on the DIMM 0 slot of each computer. I'm not sure if more info is needed. I think this is a pretty much open and shut case, but if people have thoughts, please I'm all ears. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 29, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 29, 2004 According to the model number that you put in your post; the module that you have is not a Corsair memory product, model number should start with VS or CM... milhouse_ph
Hmm... I was going off of the "sticker" on the module. Unfortunately the module doesn't have any other "model" number stickers on it, so I guess it's a moot point as I've read that you need one of those to return it. Sorry to have bothered. Wired
Are there any other pieces of info on the stick at all? Does it say Corsair? Can you take a pic of it and post it here?
sunnyvale
I have the same memory module (512UDTZT3) and it also went bad on me. Threw away the packaging and don't know who is the manufacture. I am attaching two pictures of the module. The first picture has a logo on it, if anyone knows who is the manufacture, I would appreciate it. Thanks! Wired
Thanks for the images! They're definitely not Corsair from what I can tell, but maybe Ram Guy or someone else there may recognize that symbol.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 17, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 17, 2005 There is not much information on that module, not even a model number; I am assuming that this is an OEM module, or came in a retail system or something, but sorry I can not find any information nor do know who manufactured your memory module! edd
hmm, i see there has been no new posts for a while. I myself have just come upon a stick identical to this, and I suspect it is bad as well. It works in windows just fine, but some games crash a lot with it(as opposed to removing it and using a different stick) and memtest reports a lot of errors. Did anybody find out who the manufacturer was? I purchased this a while ago and no longer have the receipt. Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 22, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 22, 2006 Do you know where you purchased it? I would start there they may at least know the manufacturer.
