budltedave
I have two of these modules and one has gone bad. I ran memtest and one module passed with no problems at all, however the other module had 8396 errors on the first pass.
Wired
What is the revision of each stick? What are your memory settings?
budltedave
Both sticks are v2.2. When I received the 8396 errors, the tests were run with optimal system settings of 8-3-3-2.5T with only one stick in at a time. I also did user defined using 6-3-3-2.5T with both sticks in and received 6488 errors after 15 passes (I started getting errors around 640mb.) I ran the test again using 8-3-3-2.5T with both sticks in and received 351 errors after 1 pass (errors started at 640.0mb.)
Wired
Are they a TwinX pack? What BIOS version do you have?
budltedave
It is not a twin pack, and my bios is revision 1012 which is the latest.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 1, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 1, 2004 Please make sure that you have the FSB Jumper set to pins 2-3 furthest away from the CPU and install them in slots 2-3, then clear your bios and load setup defaults and set the following settings and test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org. After you load setup defaults, CPU Freq: 200 MHz System Performance: User Define Memory Frequency: 100% Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts Resulting Frequency: 200MHz SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 7T
budltedave
Everything seemed to work fine with those settings for a couple weeks, however last night my pc kept restarting itself. I let memtest run all day while I was at work and it had 109,013 errors after 16 passes. I took out the stick that I thought was bad and have gotten no errors after 4 passes.
