DC Kit XMS 4000 Pro perform pathetically!

Okay, I've had this PC4000 Pro Dual Channel Kit for about 4 months now. I originally bought it for use on my Asus A8V Deluxe with my Athlon FX-53 but I couldn't get the modules to perform obove a HTT/FSB of 230MHz no matter what the multiplier of the CPU was. after a month or so, I've gave up on it and just ran the memory at it's lousy default latencies at PC3200 speeds which were pretty sad at 3-3-3-8-1T.

I figured I would give this memory a try on my other system which is an A7N8X Deluxe with a XP2700 which has overclocked extremely well for me in the past. Well, on that motherboard, I could only get the memory up to 227MHz no matter the multiplier. Now I was disappointed even more. I'm no noob when it comes to overclocking either. I made sure all of the timings were set correctly, voltage was properly set and even went as high as 2.8 VDIMM to see if a little extra would help it.

I've even tried running the memory ASync on both systems to see if something else was holding it back but it definitely wasn't my Athlon FX which I could easily run at 8X275, 9X275, 10X250, 10X255, 10X260, 10.5X250, 12X200, 13X200, and so on. The XP2700 runs at 9.5X233 with 2 sticks of cheap Kingmax PC3700 in Dual Channel Mode. Using the cheap Kingmax on the Athlon FX still gives me a higher HTT/FSB than I can acheive with the PC4000 Pro. Below is a link to my case as well just to show that cooling is not an issue with this either.

Any imput or suggestions is greatly appreciated in using this to obtain the full potential of this memory or an RMA to get a kit that will perform at its rated speed.

Please put the memory module on slot 1 & 3; make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB, and set the following settings on your BIOS;

TwinX512 or TwinX1024-4000

Advanced CPU Configuration:

Memclock Mode: Limit

Memclock Value: 2:1 (DDR400)

Bank Interleaving: 4/Enabled

Burst Lenght: 8

SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T

Jumper Free/Frequency Voltage Control:

Spread Spectrum: Enabled

CPU FSB Clock: 200~250

CPU VCore: *Please set this accordingly*

DDR Voltage: 2.8/2.85 Volts

All other settings should be set to default settings!

Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
