dragvinz
Hi all, Im very new to building a computer, and have been reading up guides and forums to help me along the way. I have a h100i, rampage iv black edition mobo, 4 high performance sp120 fans that are connected to the h100i for pushpull. Case is a corsair 760t. 1st question: is it better to use the sp120 fans or use the ones that come with the pwm? I connected the fans via the y connector and connect it to the corsair pump. 2nd question: the 3 pin connector from the h100i, which actually only consist of one wire, when connected to the cpu_fan, i find it to be loose and comes out easily. Why is that so? appreciate all the help i can get! thanks!

The only difference with the SP120 high performance PWM edition would be they would run at full speed all the time and be noisier. In terms of performance this are one of the best with highest static pressure. the 3 pin you can connect to any 4 pin or 3 pin. Try connecting it to the nearest one, it shouldn't come out on his own even if it feels loose.
dragvinz
thank you very much! I will see what i can do about tightening it the one wire.
EXILE157
thank you very much! I will see what i can do about tightening it the one wire. 1 - Static Pressure 120mm are better and made for radiators and heatsinks. 2 - I would not recommend pegotico telling you to "put that 3 pin connector to any nearest 4 pin or 3 pin connector" 3 - That single 3 pin [CPU Fan] connector that you find to be loose and comes out easily, goes on the [CPU Fan] connector, As it clearly say's make sure you connect it to the [CPU Fan] on your Mobo. HOODedAssault
The single wire lead off of the H100i is basically a tach. It's connected to cpu fan header so that you will get a cpu fan error on boot if the pump fails. It basically tell the motherboard that the pump is running.
