robzila
I have a confirmed bad module from a TwinX pair of 2700LL modules. Memtest reports numerous errors with only this module in the system. These parts ran fine for approximately 5 months. In a case such as this, do I return both modules, or just the defective one? What can I do to ensure that the new module will be as compatible as the original? Thanks.
Wired
To ensure compatibility, you will have to send in BOTH. What motherboard / CPU / FSB / memory settings are you using? Hae you tested it in multiple slots?
robzila
Asus PC-DL, Dual Xeon 2.6's running at Stock settings, and yes I tried in different slots and different mobos. Memtest says its trashed...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 29, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 29, 2004 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-2700LL Advanced Chipset CPU Freq: 133 DRAM Clock: 333 MHz Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.75 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI 9200 or 9600 then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 5T SDRAM Burst Length: 4 All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
