Nived
I recently bought a RM850 from newegg but when I turn it on nothing would happen period no fans no lights no noise or anything! So I tried the paper clip test and same results accept I heard a single tick from the PSU, and when I would turn the PSU off the fan would spin like twice and that's all so I called newegg and I'm getting a new one. But my question is ,does the fan a little on initial boot or does it sit till 40% then spin? Please help the customer support rep at newegg didn't help much so I was hoping the forums could help. Thanks for all your help!
Administrators Technobeard Posted July 11, 2014 Administrators Share Posted July 11, 2014 http://www.corsair.com/en-us/rm-series-rm850-80-plus-gold-certified-power-supply The Corsair RM850 is fully modular and optimized for silence and high efficiency. It’s built with low-noise capacitors and transformers, and Zero RPM Fan Mode ensures that the fan doesn’t even spin until the power supply is under heavy load. Are you saying that the system isn't getting any power, or just that the fan isn't spinning?
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted July 11, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 11, 2014 I recently bought a RM850 from newegg but when I turn it on nothing would happen period no fans no lights no noise or anything! Turn it on..... how? By just flipping the switch on the back? The paper clip trick is just going to yield a "click" noise of the in-rush current relay as the fan is not supposed to spin until this significant load/high temperatures.
