supayello
Hello, I Bought a Pair of CMX512-3200C2PT Memory modules a little over a year ago, and ONE of the module is BAD. I would get errors, crashes, blue screens, etc when using this module ALONE or with the other Pair. I tried placing the BAD Memory in different Slots with no success. The Other Module works perfectly. My Motherboard BIOs is updated with the latest version, tried Default/Optimized BIOs settings, tried loosening up the timings, ran Memory tests from http://www.memtest.org numerous times(getting errors ofcourse). I'm currently using the Other working module from the pair with no problems at all. Here are my PC specs: CPU = P4 3.0E 'Prescott' 1MB L2 cache Mobo = MSI 865PE Neo-2PFS (with latest BIOs and Chipset drivers) PSU = Antec 430W truepower Sound = Audigy 2 (latest drivers) Video = Ati 9700Pro (latest Drivers) Memory = Pair of CMX512-3200C2PT (1 Bad ofcourse) I would like a replacement for the same type. Thank you.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 28, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 28, 2004 Please make sure you have the latest BIOS installed in your MB and load optimized/optimal default settings, and try the following BIOS settings.; Advanced Chipset: DRAM Timing Bank Interleaving: 4/Enabled Burst Length: 8 SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T Frequency Voltage Control: Spread Spectrum: Enabled CPU FSB Clock: 200 DDR Voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI 9200 or 9600 then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
