Neosum
I just wiped and performed a fresh install of Windows 8.1 Pro. Boot times are exactly 2mins. All drivers up to date. Bios and SSD Firmware is up to date. I can't seem to find out what the issue is. Is anyone else experiencing this? I have a Corsair Force GS 240GB. The slow boot started on Windows 7 some time ago so I decided to format and try 8.1 but it looks like my problem carried over. Could it be a bad SSD? When the issue started in Windows 7, downgrading the SSD firmware to 5.05 seemed to resolve the issue. When it started happening again, I upgraded it to 5.07 and it seemed to be fixed. Then randomly, it started again and I can't seem to figure it out. This time, downgrading the firmware does not resolve the issue.
jameyscott
Post ATTO benchmark, and also look at the drive with CrystalDiskInfo and post some screen shots please. Just to make sure since you didn't stay it, you are using AHCI mdoe in the bios, correct?
Toasted
By wipe, do you mean format or a secure erase?
Neosum
Yes, it's set to AHCI and I did a single pass secure erase before format. Update: I decided to flash the firmware again, this time 5.05a and it's back to normal. 8-10 sec boot time. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this? http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y57/neosum/public/c9bb40c9-0197-4b94-9318-2bfc07e72b15.jpg
jameyscott
I honestly have no clue what could be doing that. It sounds like a faulty drive, but everything is showing on the up and up. Another option is to install Kingsoft PC Doctor. It's what I personally use to track my boot times and you will see what the issue is if it ever persists.
