Ken429
I need to buy yet another case. I have several 600T Cases, an 800D and a 650D. I really like the 650D and will probably buy a second one. However, it's been around awhile and I curious if there is a better Corsair mid-tower case I should consider. Also, it seems like Corsair cuts off the supple of spare parts after a case has been around for a few years. The 800D is a good example. I want to reuse a Swiftech Custom Water Cooling setup with a 2X140MM Rad so that is a consideration. Comments would be appreciated.
LangZone
If you want to stay mid tower you should check out the 450D it should support your rad needs and look really clean. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/obsidian-series-450d-mid-tower-pc-case There's other mid tower options as well at: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cases/popular-cases/mid-tower-cases
Lady Fitzgerald
I'm pretty sure the 650D is being discontinued (Fry's Electronics is the first vendor to quit stocking discontinued products and they are now selling only existing store stock of the 650D). You can still get some parts for it, however. Many of the parts used in the 650D are also used in other cases; you just have to figure out which parts are used in which other cases. It's a pity that the Corsair Store doesn't cross reference their parts. It's also a pity the 650D is being discontinued; it's a good case that just needs some updating (most notably, lose the outdated USB 3.0 pass through cable), a little redesign without removing features, and a few holes sealed up to be an excellent case. Ken429
Am I wrong, I think the 650D is a all around better case that the 450D, especially, now that the 650D in on a "clearance" sale at some vendors? Since I bought a couple of the Bitfenix Internal USB 3.0 Adapters the old 650D USB 3.0 cables are not an issue. Also, based on one of the videos it indicated the packaging for the 450D was not a robust as the packaging for the 650D and if you planned on shipping a completed build in the 450D box it might be a problem? What am I missing?
LangZone
I would opt for the 650D as well but if the point is an Obsidian series case that's newer for some longevity (as per your first post) the 450D would fit that category with great reviews. Ultimately you could go full tower and pick up a 750D or even 900D!
Lady Fitzgerald
...Ultimately you could go full tower and pick up a 750D or even 900D! And get a forklift to pick them up with! :D: They are nice cases but I'm 65 and handicapped. I have to pull the side panels off the 650D I've been modding just to reduce the weight enough so I can lift it (I'm now waiting for wetter weather before I move my current rig to the new case to reduce the danger of damage from ESD). Didn't you know the 900D comes with the Corsair Lifting Apparatus ©?
