get1out
Is there anyway to reinstall the old app? I am away and do not have access to a computer to update my firmware and I mistakenly updated the app on my Ipad. Now my drive is usless for my Ipad. I still have the old version on my Iphone but it is not the same for watching videos.
Yellowbeard
Unfortunately no, there is no way to change the app version due to how Apple locks down their control over this.
BillRathbone
In this situation (old firmware on your drive), the best option is to use a third-party file management utility to browse and stream the files on the drive. iOS Options include: FileBrowser (This one used to be free. Now there is a free version but it might be limited) Remote File Manager [Pay/Free versions] File Explorer [Pay/Free versions] File Manager - Folder Plus [Pay] ... and there are lots more. Yellowbeard
Bill, would he be able to do the update via one of these third-party utilities?
BillRathbone
The challenge is getting the update file onto the drive. With Android it wouldn't be too bad, but on iOS (because there is no usable file system) it's tricky. You would need to download the update file on your iPad/iPhone (from the Corsair site) and save it to an accessible storage location like Dropbox. Then using the third-party file app, upload from Dropbox to the Voyager Air drive. Once that's done, plug the Voyager Air in to wall/car power and cycle it off and on again. get1out
Thanks for the quick responses. I have been able to get the file to the iphone; however, I have not had any luck getting the file to the drive. Some sites have had apps available for download outside of the Apple app store. Maybe you could consider putting the old version on your web site.

BillRathbone
Yes - Apple requires that all apps be downloaded and installed through their app store.
BillRathbone
Your best option for updating the drive is to find a PC or Mac and get the update file onto the drive using it (via USB).
