klepp0906
Ok first the reason I began looking into a potential problem. I just built a new backup rig. I was on somewhat of a budget so while I have a custom rig on my main machine - I had to go AIO on this one. Apparently the H100i is the cream of the crop in this realm. This has been FAR from the case for me and If it weren't for how ugly air coolers are, I'd buy a 212 for 25% what this ran and I'd imagine it would garner me nearly 125% the performance. I have a 9590 which I am currently stress testing with the bios on auto. The only thing I have changed is the turbo clock which means it doesn't speed up to 5ghz, nor does it downclock. All cores are running at 4.7 (stock clocks) The max temp these chips are rated at is 70core and 60package. I can speak from experience at 80 they throttle dramatically. I am running IBT with the side of the case wide open at the moment and I am hitting 73c on the core and 55c on the package. Idle temps on the core are 40ish, package is lower as you would expect. This would point to a problem of a massive nature considering even the worst or these chips are doing 5ghz with this cooler at lower temps. I can't even get 4900mhz to run at any voltage due to the heat. Here's the kicker - this is even with a lapped chip AND liquid metal TIM!! I expected this setup to be very adequate. Now, what I have done in an attempt to rectify this before I have to resort to this inconvenient waste of time... I have reseated and reused all of my liquid metal (not cheap!), I had tightened the screws all the way down as is normally the MO with waterblocks to avoid user error and damage. Afterwards the instructions say to do the opposite so upon the reseating, I did. No change. I have changed my fans from a push, to a pull.. And from an exhaust - to pulling cool air from outside over the radiator - again, abysmal performance. (In an air conditioned room mind you!) I have also updated the firmware and link software and set it to maximum performance. (Fans and pump showing to be running at 2200ish) Now at this point I'm stumped but it cannot be anything other than the pump. A few things I've noticed. A) the block, tubes, and radiator are all room temp at best - not getting warm as youd expect from a nuclear reactor such as a 9590 and B) the pump isn't running as one consistent vibration - it seems to be pulsing. Like a vibration, stop, vibration, stop. It's not so dramatic as a complete stop but it seems to run like you would expect then cut back by a ton then vibrate as usual again. I assume this is abnormal? The pump should be running a consistent speed and vibration; no pulsing whatsoever when you put your hand on it? Just looking for some feedback before I pull the plug. I went through hell to get this PC together and the idea of it being down weeks again makes me sick. Anyone able to touch their pump? Anyone with 9590 temps to share? Thank you for any help you can give! (PS - after I Finish with the RMA if that's the case, I want to scoop up a few extra fans for a push/pull setup. What model fans do I need as a direct match for the H100i?)
G50EED
What is the reported RPM of the pump? It has a 1-wire tach lead that should be connected to a fan header on your motherboard (anyone will do). Either in BIOS or through 3rd-party software, what's the reported RPM on that header?
Yellowbeard
Also, what source of power is the pump connected to?

I thought I put it in the post - sorry. Fans and pumps are all operating at the proper rpms Atleast via the software. 2200+ It's connected via whatever came with the cooler. Sata I think, maybe molex but I'm pretty sure the former. To a 1300w psu. Thank you very much for the replies!

klepp0906
bump. Still trying to resolve this. I bought 2 new fans which have been processing since Wednesday (seriously?...) but I was under the impression this thing would cool adequately without extra fans. Hoping it makes the difference for me but it doesn't seem like its removing much heat. The tubing doesn't really get warm at all nigh the radiator. Really need some input here.
