Wsinno
My Grandpa has brought a AX860i for my Birthday last year, it has been working fine til 2 days ago, it stop working and bit of white smoke will come out whenever i click the Self test button. Unfortunately i do not have the receipt so i cannot send it back to Corsair for Warranty, tho if i am willing to pay for it, will corsair repair the PSU for me? If so any ideas on how much will it cost? I know most people will just tell me to buy a new one but my grandpa recently passed away which make this PSU the last present from him. kimandsally
I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa passing away, if it helps, if you know the shop it came from they should be able to do a copy receipt for you. If not I hope it turns out well for you, if I worked at Corsair I would repair it for you as a gesture of goodwill.

I am willing to pay for the repair cost ( even if it cost $300 ), i just want to know if it's possible.
JKeifer
I, too, am sorry to hear about the passing of your Grandpa. May he rest in peace. I could be wrong, but I don't think Corsair would actually repair and return the same power supply to you but, rather, would swap it out for a new one of the same or equal quality and power capability. If you want to retain the same power supply your Grandpa gave you then you would possibly need to look elsewhere for a repair. If you don't mind a replacement, I'd suggest contacting Corsair either with a telephone call or start an RMA. Ask them if there is a way to determine date of manufacture and let them know you don't have the original receipt because the unit was a gift. I am pretty sure they will be understanding. Good luck! wytnyt
if replacing is your only option,id buy another psu and keep your old one as a memento ,,but im a very sentimental person as you also seem to be...and im very saddened by your grand father passing.
