onthebus
I am in Sydney, Australia. I bought a Corsair HX-620 power supply a few years ago. It is a modular PSU and it came with 2 x 6pin PCI-e GPU power cables which have all worked perfectly. However, now that it is time for a graphics upgrade, I have a problem. New GPU's want 2 8-pin power cables. Where can I get the 6-pin to 6+2 pin power leads. Any advice would be appreciated.
jony47
hi, i have a 780ti SC and it came with 2 extra cables. Each have 2 6pin connectors on one end and on other is a 8pin. So im guessing your gfx package would also have this. correct me if im wrong but 6 pin = 75 8 pin = 150 so u need 2 6pins to convert to one 8pin, so basically u need 4 6pin's for 2 8pins. correct me if im wrong again but i have heard that many power supplies will deliver 150 on the single 6 pin, you may just be asking for trouble(the 8 pin cable actually gives 2 extra ground wires as I see it.). cheers m8...hope it helps
onthebus
Sounds good , except the PSU only has two 6-pin PCI-e cable outputs.

onthebus
The point is, if I can get 2 cables 6-pin to 6+2 pin cables, then I will not need to buy another PSU and dump a perfectly good one.

Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted June 23, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 23, 2014 Keep in mind that the cards could work with just 6 of the 8-pins plugged in.
